Description

Motori Minarelli, an Italian manufacturer of scooter engines that belongs to the Yamaha Group, is to cut 56 jobs (out of 283) at its site located at Calderara di Reno, in the province of Bologna. According to the company the job cuts are mainly due to the fall in demand in the European market. The trade unions reacted to the company’s decision organising various protest actions.

As reported, Italy has applied for assistance from the European Globalisation Adjustment Fund (EGF), for previous redundancies (19) that took place in a previous restructuring in 2011.
