Description
On 19 July 2013, Sony announced the take over of its last plant in France, in Ribeauvillé, with 168 job cuts. From the 1st of September, Sony will merge with the French company Cordon electronics (1500 employees). Sony will keep 51% of the capital and Cordon Electronics will have the remaining 49% with the aim to be the only owner by 2014. The new owner expects to reduce the sites's losses by 2016-2017 attracting new clients.
