Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
On 10 July 2013 housing corporation Ymere announced plans to cut almost 20% of the jobs (180 out of 1,063) in the coming two years. As announced, the restructuring is due to financial difficulties connected to several changes in the government policies with negative effects on the balance sheet. 70 out of the 180 redundancies have already been implemented but the plan is still pending for approval by the works council.
