Description

Peko, one of the remaining Slovenian footwear producers, has been facing severe problems for quite some time, resulting in decreased orders and increased indebtness.

So far, Peko has implemented several restructuring programmes sponsored by the state, which is now the main shareholder of the company. The programmes have had rather limited success. After failing to sell the company to a Croatian investor, a new restructuring programme has been launched. According to the programme, 50 out of 360 employees will lose jobs by the end of the year.
