Description

Around 200 jobs are to be cut at the Swedish Armed Forces Headquarters in Stockholm, where 1,070 people are currently employed. The restructuring is to be completed by the end of the year in order to meet new cost-cutting targets. Approximately 150 officers and 50 civil servants will be laid off.

The Armed Forces Headquarters is the highest level of command in the Swedish Armed Forces. Its predominant task is that of command of operations, but the HQ is also involved in e.g. matters of military strategy, the development of Armed Forces and acting as a channel of contact with the government.
