Description
The Swiss based lingerie manufacturer Triumph is to shed 350 jobs in Austria. Two production sites, one in Aspang (Lower Austria) with 97 employees and one in Oberpullendorf (Burgenland) with 112 employees are to be shut down. Furthermore, 45 jobs are to be made redundant in the production site in Oberwart (Burgenland) and 96 in the company's Austrian headquarter in Wiener Neustadt (Lower Austria). These measures are part of a larger cost-cutting programme (Triumph-WO2013 ). The step was due to decreased demand and the comparatively high production costs in the country as compared to other production sites abroad. Already in 2010, the company closed down a production site in the Styrian town of Hartberg (Triumph- AT2010).
