Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.

Sofedit-Gestamp, specialized in hot stamping for car manufacturers, is to cut 190 positions by the end of 2013. The plan affects mainly the plant of Theil-sur-Huisne (Orne) with 114 job cuts and the Sofedit-Gestamp’s headquarter (20 job cuts) on a total workforce of 891 employees (15% of the total workforce). Other units are affected also in France. According to the sources, the job cuts where negotiated with social partners in the framework of a company-level agreement on workforce adaptation. Till now no further information is provided on the type of job cuts measures (direct dismissals or other reduction measures).
