Description

As announced on March 6, 2013, Swedish energy provider Vattenfall will cut 1,500 jobs in Germany. This is due weakened market conditions, decreasing demand for energy and production overcapacities. Additionally, it is reported that the company suffers from the German nuclear phase-out.

Employees are affected at the sites in Berlin, Hamburg and Cottbus. In total, Vattenfall will cut about 2,500 jobs, 400 of them in Sweden and 500 in the Netherlands. Job cuts shall be realized by the end of 2014.
