Description
Supermarket chain Morrisons has announced plans to buy 49 stores from bankrupt Blockbuster film rental chain creating 1000 jobs by late summer. Morrisons plans to build a new convenience store franchise called 'Morrisons M', especially targeting London and the South East.
There is no formal commitment by Morrisons to retain Blockbusters staff, but it stated that it would welcome job applications by former Blockbuster staff. Stores are said to be open by late summer.
