European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Stevedoring company (port cargo handling) Finnsteve has announced 100 redundancies from its operations in the port of Helsinki.
Finnsteve employs 360 persons at the Helsinki port. Anticipated redundancies of up to 90 persons result from a lost container client contract.
The company has initiated preliminary negotiations with employee representatives in February. These were 'Adjustment negotiations' defined by the stevedoring collective bargaining contract and preceded statutory negotiations in such cases.
UPDATED, 15-05-2013: Finnsteve has concluded prelimanary and mandatory negotiations and announced a dismissal of approximately 100 employees.
