Description
Cheshire East Council has announced that it is to cut 1,000 jobs within the next three years.
The local authority has said that it has to make the cuts as a result of a reduction in government grants. The trade union Unison has said that local authoirty services would be affected by the job cuts.
According to the council, the aim of the restructuring is to reduce waste, duplication and bureaucracy, as well as cutting management overheads.
