Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Energy group Nuon, part of Swedish power company Vattenfall, announced its intention to close the experimental plant in Buggenum, resulting in the loss of 140 jobs.
The plant is one of two in Europe, which works on developing a procedure of changing coal into gas. Background to the closure is the difficult market situation.
For an overall view of the restructuring process in Vattenfall in the EU area, please see factsheet 23626.
