Able Group, a leading provider of engineering services, will hire 1,000 new employees in 2013. The Gummersbach (North Rhine-Westfalia) based company says it strongly profits from the outsourcing of engineering tasks by major manufacturers.

In 2012, Able's total turnover increased by 12% - 600 new positions were created. As of January 2013, Able Group employs a total (international) staff of 6,700.

The company indicates that turnover of staff is high. On average, engineers stay about five years with Able. In an effort to increase its attractiveness as an employer, Able settled a collective agreement with the Metallworkers Unions (IG Metall) that stipulates remuneration to reach the level of the sectoral collective agreement. Also, it fixes that further training shall be provided by the employer. The collective agreement will be come into force in summer 2013.
