German airline Air Berlin will cut 900 jobs until 2014. This is part of a larger restructuring programme at Germany’s second largest air carrier. It will include a range of measures to fight its net debts of about EUR 800 million, such as the downsizing of the number of flights and air planes, as well as implementing wage cuts.
Negotiations with the trade union and the works council are ongoing.
