Description

On 17 January 2013, the aircraft manufacturer Airbus announced its intention to recruit 3,000 employees by the end of 2013. This will result in the net creation of 1,800 jobs, taking into account about 1,200 natural departures (retirement, turn-over). Recruitment is reported to be slightly slower than in recent years.

About 45% of positions will be created in France, mainly in the area of Toulouse (Midi-Pyrénées). The company is reacting to an increase in demand, specifically from China, Asia-Pacific and Middle-East region. Airbus’ workforce has increased by 7,000 employees the last two years (10,000 recruitments – 3,000 natural departures) and is now at 59,000 employees.
