Description

The temporary work agencies group Randstad announced its plan to cut 163 jobs in France. The group will open a voluntary redundancy plan for senior positions.

According to Randstad, the aim is to preserve its competitiveness. The company expects to save 5 million euro per year in operational costs after the restructuring. The union representatives expressed their discontent, as they consider the measure unjustifiable since the group is still profitable.

Randstad’s profit in France decreased by about 13% in the third quarter of 2012, but overall the Dutch group announced a turnover of approximately 4,4 billion Euro (up 4%) in October 2012 and 68,8 million gross profit.

Randstad counts 31,000 employees worldwide, while it operates 900 branches and employs 4,000 people in France.
