Description
Austrian Airlines is to cut another 150 jobs in the course of 2013. The job cuts will take place in the administration and engineering departments, as well as in air traffic.
The step is taken in order to save more than 10 million EUR by eliminating duplication of jobs that have occurred since the transfer of Austrian to its own subsidiary Tyrolean Airways earlier this year (see here). In the course of the transfer, some 341 employees of Austrian have given notice of their termination of employment in July 2012 (see here). A social plan is to be developed in cooperation with the works council.
