Description
SJ, the largest train operator in Sweden, will hire at least 150 new train drivers in the coming three years to meet the demands of the growing market. The geographical area with the largest needs in the short term is the Stockholm region, which faces the risk of becoming understaffed as more and more people are travelling by train.
SJ, a limited company since 2001, is wholly owned by the Swedish state. The company operates 90% of long distance train travel and 55 % of total train travel in the country. Earlier employment adjustments by SJ are covered in fact sheets 14371, 1979.
New employees will be hired starting 2013.
