Description

Vodafone Hellas, one of the biggest mobile telecom providers, is about to cut off 150 job positions via a voluntary exit plan.

Vodafone Hellas has launched a programme of voluntary exit that was to affect 70 to 90 people in the customer service and other administrative functions. Provisions included: legal compensation according to years worked, a lump sum payment of salaries based on social criteria, the employee’s family status, additional provision combining age and years worked, continuing the medical care plan for one year both for the employee and family members, as well a lump sum payment of total employer contributions to the company’s private pension plan.

However, according to Vodafone there have been twice as many applications reaching a number of 150 employees. The labour union claims that this number exceeds even 280 employees.
