Description
Premier Foods has announced plans to cut 900 jobs from its bread division in the UK and to close two bakeries in west London and Birmingham next year. The cuts are part of wider plans to restructure the company's logistics and to cut its debts of more than £1bn.The restructuring also follows the loss of a contract with a supermarket to produce bread, worth £75m.
The unions claimed that these “job losses were devastating”.
