Description

On 16 November 2012, the management of Veolia Environnement confirmed a voluntary departure plan for 100 employees of its headquarters in Paris. The voluntary departure plan will be in effect as of January 2013 and it will mostly affect managers (90%). If the number of voluntary departures falls short of 100 by summer 2013, then the company will proceed with forced dismissals.

The French global company, which provides a full range of environmental services in the fields of water, waste management, energy and transportation, launched in August 2011 a major restructuring in order to reduce its debt from currently 15 billion euro to 12 billion. The cost saving measures included the sale of its passenger transport division Veolia Transdev to Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations last September.
