Description
Mining company Czech Coal has announced up to 500 job cuts, consequence of the closure of two underground coal mines (Centrum, ČSA) located in Most.
The process of termination of the mining activities will begin on the 1st December 2012 and is expected to last several months. The workforce is to be reduced gradually.
The closure of the mines does not come as a surprise as they lasted longer than initially predicted, as the underground sites can no longer function under the required parameters for mining and fuel.
