Description

Irish Water, the new agency responsible for introducing household water charges in the Republic of Ireland, commenced the recruitment of 400 new call centre jobs in October 2012. Irish Water, a new division of Bord Gais, the Irish Gas Board, posted an online notice saying the first 100 jobs will be filled by next May.

It is envisaged that a further 300 jobs will be phased in over the following 12 months, coinciding with the introduction of a water billing system for households in the Republic. The online notice on the government e-tender website asks the private sector to help establish the call centre, which will send bills and handle customer queries and complaints about their water supply.
