Description
On 2 November, Michel Rubino, the buyer of 139 Schlecker stores in France announced that all 750 jobs will be saved and 250 more will be created in 2013 under the company name Système U.
The German drugstore chain Schlecker declared bankruptcy in January 2012, which resulted in many job losses throughout Europe (the group had an estimated workforce of over 50,000). In France, the 139 premises will operate as food stores, as part of the supermarket group Système U, and will be renamed “Utile" or "U express”.
