Description
As announced on October 16, 2012 German publishing company Bibliographisches Institut will cut 140 out of 190 jobs in Mannheim.
Bibliographisches Institut publishes the German dictionary Duden, whose production will be relocated to Berlin. About 50 employees will receive offers to relocate there. Another 45 of the redundant workers are part of the company’s children book’s section, which shall be sold.
The company announced talks with the worker’s council.
