Description

Firstsource, a company providing call centre services, has announced plans to cut 500 jobs in Thornaby and Middlesbrough.

The company manages Payment Protection Insurance claims for Barclaycard. The job losses were blamed on a decline in such claims. The company has entered a 90-day consultation period with the affected staff. The company has stated that they will try to help redundant employees in finding a new job.
