European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
The international high-technology group Safran, specialized in aerospace, defense and security, announced its intention to recruit 6,000 employees in 2013. About 75% of the recruitments will be engineers and managers for research and development.
Half of the recruitment will occur in France: Safran 2012 - FR, and the rest in the UK and Germany.
It is reported that the union CFDT supports Safrans’ business expansion, but also underlines that these recruitments are being made in the context of increased departures by retirement. The group has not given information on the number of retirements in 2013.
Safran employs 60,000 people worldwide.
