Description
Lear, supplier of seating and electrical power management systems to the automotive industry, is to close its plant located at Termini Imerese (Sicily), with the consequent loss of 170 jobs.
The company has announced to start the collective dismissals procedures, after the recourse to the Wage Guarantee Fund schemes. The closure of the Lear Sicilian plant is strictly linked to the closure of the Fiat plant (occurred in 2011), its main customer. A reindustrialization plan of the area has not yet come into effect.
