In July 2012, the telecommunications and Internet company Bouygues Telecom (9800 employees) announced a voluntary departure plan in order to cut 556 positions. The reason is to increase its competitiveness against the low-cost provider Free.
The information and consultation process will end mid-October. There is current disagreement between the employees’ representatives and the management on the compensation package.Â
