Description

On 25 September 2012, the pharmaceutical group Sanofi announced its intentions to cut up to 900 positions by 2015.

Sanofi initially planned to cut up to 1371 positions, which they decreased after negotiations with the government.

The management explains it will use voluntary departure measures and internal mobility. This restructuring plan does not cover the future of the sites of Toulouse and Montpellier for which unions are expecting about 840 jobs cuts. Discussions will be held with social partners and local authorities for the future of these sites.

Update 27-06-2013 The restucturing plan presented to the Central works council on 2 July 2013 has reduced the number of job cuts from 900 as announced in September 2012 to 270 including 63 in Toulouse. 190 employees of this site will move to other sites (internal mobility) and 364 will stay there. In September, Sanofi was planning to close the site of Toulouse (617 employees).
