Description
On 13 August 2012, a chain store Rast announced plans to dismiss 750 workers by the end of September 2012.
The reason given for the dismissals is the difficult financial situation of the chain’s owner Bomi. On 12 July 2012, delicatessen chain store Bomi filed for bankruptcy (see the factsheet on Bomi situation).
In Olsztyn units, where about 600 people are employed, 323 workers have already been dismissed in August. The next cuts are planned for September.
Rast, operating in Olsztyn and Mrągowo, was acquired by Bomi in 2008.
