Description
Beltrame, the company operating in the steel industry, is to close its plant located in Marghera (in the province of Venice), with the consequent loss of 117 jobs.
According to the company's representative, the closure is due to the fall in demand caused by the economic crisis.
The trade unions have reacted to the company’s decision with organising protests; they have also asked for a meeting aimed at finding effective solutions for the problems of the Marghera site.
Beltrame group has around 26,000 employees in Europe.
