European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
On 5 September 2012, railway operator Przewozy Regionalne in Białystok announced plans to reduce the employment by 20% (62 jobs are expected to be cut). The main reason given for the dismissals is the public financial support from the Podlaskie Voivodeship, which is lower than expected and the company has to cut expenditures.
The local trade unions consider protests including the blockade of railways.
Przewozy Regionalne is owned and funded by 16 regional governments. The company provides local and interregional passenger transport.
