Description
Electronics retail chain ProMarkt, a subsidiary of German retailer REWE will close 10 out of 70 chain stores in Germany until the end of 2012. 290 out of 1,890 full-time posts will be lost. The restructuring is reported to be necessary to save ProMarkt from bankruptcy. The remaining stores will be modernized.
A social plan has been agreed on with the works council.
