Description
South Tyneside Council will cut 350 jobs over the next two years following cuts in central government funding. It is reported that the council has already cut 1,200 jobs since 2010 mainly through natural wastage and voluntary redundancies.
There are fears from the trade union side that the job losses will have an impact on the quality of services.
