Description
RWE, a German utilities company, plans to introduce a savings plan and substantially limit expenditures by the end of 2014. As a result, up to 2,400 (administrative) jobs could be lost across Europe.
Part of the restructuring effort consists of building an umbrella company for the German, UK and Dutch power stations. RWE intends to open one large service centre for the whole of Europe. The location of this service centre of up to 1,000 jobs would be outside Germany, most likely in Prague (Czech) or Kosice (Slovakia).
