Description

German shoe manufacturer Rohde, which since its insolvency in 2007 is held by Morgan Stanley and the private equity firm Square Four, will offshore the production from its Schwalmstadt plant. The plant will be shut down by the end of 2012, leading to the loss of 120 full-time jobs. Administration, product development, purchasing, sales and distribution divisions will not be offshored.

Currently, Rohde holds production sites in Germany, Austria and Denmark and employs a total of 340 staff. Out of these, 290 work in Schwalmstadt.
