Description

The steel producer Mechel Campia Turzii announced the intention to dismiss 438 employees by October 2012. 250 jobs will be cut in August and 188 in September, as a result of market demand decrease.

The employees will receive compensatory payments equal to three month gross salaries.

At present the company employs 1,000 people in Romania.

As reported, Romania has applied for assistance from the European Globalisation Adjustment Fund (EGF).
