Description

Honda Italia, the Italian branch of the Japanese multinational corporation specialized in the manufacturing of automobiles and motorcycles, is to cut 303 jobs (out of 645) at the plant of Atessa, in the province of Chieti. According to the company, the job cuts are mainly due to the recent economic crisis.

The trade unions are concerned about the future of the Italian plant and have requested the involvement of local and national authorities.

Some media reports state that the company might offshore the production to Asia.
