Description
Rhön Kliniken, the majority owner of the university hospitals Marburg and Giessen since its privatization in 2006, will cut 240 jobs. It is reported that the job cuts will not affect care and medical staff.
This is the result of negotiations between the state of Hessia, which still holds a 5% share of the clinics, the universities and the clinics. The case raised public interest due to fears of a negative impact on regional health care service provision.
There is no timeline given for the restructuring.
