Description

The management of Assa Bloy has announced the closure of the JPM plant of Avermes leaving 105 without job.

The current production will be transferred to another unit, Assa Bloy Aube Anjou in Sainte-Savine. The management will open 58 positions in Saint-Savine to the employees of Avermes, although it is reported that take-up of this offer may be very low.

This restructuring follows an earlier measure in 2009, when 129 jobs were cut. Since the reorganisation of 2009, a part of the production was offshored to China, according the union CGT.
