The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Danish ship owner and operator A.P. Moller-Maersk is to cut 400 jobs worldwide in its large container ship company, Maersk Line. 250 jobs will be shed at the headquarters in Copenhagen, where currently 2,200 people are employed.
According to the management the redundancies should be seen as a way of streamlining business operations and improve competitiveness. In total Mersk Line has 25,000 employees.
