Description

On 11 May 2012, Danish meat producer Danish Crown announced that it will terminate its activities at the slaughterhouse in Esbjerg and close the site making 500 employees redundant.

The decision comes as a result of a decline in pig meat supply to the site. Out of the 500 employees affected by the cuts more than half will find job within the same company. 300 new jobs will be created in other units, following Danish Crown's recent investments.

The slaughterhouse in Esbjerg will be closed down in the end of August.
