European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Ciccolella, a company specialized in the production and marketing of cut flowers and potted plants, is to cut 242 jobs at its sites of Terlizzi and Molfetta (in the province of Bari), Candela (in the province of Foggia) and Melfi (in the province of Potenza). Ciccolella currently employs around 400 people at these four sites.
According to the company, the job cuts are mainly due to the recent drop in sales.
The trade unions reacted to the company's decision by organizing protest actions.
