Description
Romania's national mail company Posta Romana announced the decision to dismiss 1,029 employees (most of them working in administration or management positions) in 2012. Another 5,500 employees will be made redundant over the coming years. The exact timing for the restructuring is yet to be announced.
The decision came from a newly appointed director and is meant to improve the financial situation of the company and avoid insolvency.
The move is motivated by financial losses registered by the company and it is said to be one of the most extensive restructuring plans in Romania this year - provided that it is accepted by the trade unions.
