The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Cabovisão, a telecommunications company providing telephone, internet and television services, mostly in the district of Setúbal, has announced its plans to dismiss 100 of its workers through collective dismissals.
The company did not provide any official justification for its decision. However, the trade union representatives claim this is a measure to reduce costs. The unions are seeking help from the state officials to avoid the cuts.
Cabovisão currently employs 370 workers. It was bought by a French company Altice in February 2012.
The timeline of the restructuring is yet to be announced.
