Description
Food producer RF Brookes has announced plans to cut almost 200 jobs in a bid to cut costs and sustain the business. The announcement came after a review of the business demand over the coming months and reflects the termination of supplier contracts in 2011. The company has just entered a 90-day consultation period.
On 18 July 2012, the company announced 150 additional redundancies. A company spokesman said that production from Leicester has moved to Notingham as a result of several recent strikes and blamed the job losses on the relocation. The total number of redundancies is now 350.
