Description

Car maker Opel has announced to make 100 of its 230 temporary workers at its production site in Austria redundant. This step is due to over capacity and the current weakness of the automotive market in Europe, according to the general manager Mr Lewald.

Jobs of permanent staff are not under threat; on the contrary, some 30 new apprentices will be hired this autumn.
