Description

The international humanitarian movement, The Red Cross, will reduce their workforce by 70 employees as nearly all regional offices in Sweden will be closed. During the last two years, nearly half of the Red Cross employees have lost their jobs as a result of the organization's deteriorating economy.

It is reported that large compensations to the movements managers might have damaged the confidence in the organisation, which lost 44,000 members in 2010 and further 28,000 members in 2011. Twelve of the 16 regional offices will be closed in order to improve finances.

Information on the timeline of the job cuts is not available yet.
