Retail chain Auchan wants to create 3,200 new positions in the next two years, mainly by opening 50 Drive away stores (where customers can pick up their goods purchased online) and six new stores. On the same period, Auchan expect to cut 1,600 positions on 117 sites to increase its productivity. Unions said that 1,700 jobs would be cut but that management committed to avoid forced redundancies. The jb cuts will be carried out through natural departures and non-renewal of fixed-term contracts.
